Dies Irae

† Psalmus 57

Alienati sunt peccatores a vulva.
Erraverunt ab utero locuti sunt falsa.
Furor illis secundum similitudinem serpentis.

Deus conteret dentes eorum in ore,
Ad nihilum devenient tamquam aqua decurrens intendit,
Arcum suum donec infirmentur.

Sicut limax, quae tabescens transit,
Sicut abortivum mulieris, quod non vidit solem.
Priusquam intellegerent spinae vestrae ramnum sicut,
Viventes sicut in ira absorbet vos.

Laetabitur iustus cum viderit vindictam manus suas
Lavabit in sanguine peccatoris

† Psalmus 57 [ENG]

The wicked are alienated from the womb.
They have gone astray from the womb: they have spoken false things.
Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent.

God shall break in pieces their teeth in their mouth,
They shall come to nothing, like water running down,
He hath bent his bow till they be weakened.

Let them be like snails that sink into slime,
Like untimely births that never see the sun.
Before your thorns could know the brier,
He swalloweth them up, as alive, in his wrath.

The just shall rejoice when he shall see the revenge,
He shall wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.
And man shall say: If indeed there be fruit to the just:

There is indeed a God that judgeth them on the earth.

† Psalmus 57 [ITA]

Come erba calpestata inaridiscano.

† Rex Gloriae

Non est sic, surrexit sicut praedixerat.
Ite, nunciate quia surrexit.
Non est hic; surrexit sicut praedixerat;
Ite, nunciate quia surrexit.
Rex celestis, pro scelestis.

Quis revolvet nobis lapidem
ab ostio monumenti?

Alleluia! Resurrexit Dominus hodie,
resurrexit leo fortis,
Christus filius Dei.
Alleluia

† Rex Gloriae [ENG]

He is not here, he has risen from the dead as predicted.
Go, announce that he has risen,
the King of Heaven, for all the sinners.

Who shall roll away our stone
from the door of the tomb?

Hallelujah! The Lord has risen today,
the strong lion,
Christ the Son of God.
Hallelujah!

† Rex Gloriae [ITA]

Non è qui, è risorto come aveva predetto.
Andate, annunciate che è risorto.
Il Re dei Cieli, per i peccatori

Chi ci rotolerà via il masso
dall’apertura del sepolcro?

Alleluia! Oggi è risorto il Signore,
è risorto il forte leone,
Cristo figlio di Dio
Alleluia

† Psalmus 87

Oculi mei languerunt prae inopia.
Clamavi ad te Domine tota die.

Numquid mortuis facies mirabilia?
Numquid narrabit aliquis in sepulchro misericordiam tuam?
Et veritatem tuam in perditione?
Numquid cognoscentur in tenebris mirabilia tua,
Et iustitia tua in terra oblivionis?

Elongasti a me amicum et proximum
Et notos meos a miseria.

† Psalmus 87 [ENG]

My eyes languished through poverty.
All the day I cried to thee, O Lord.

Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead?
Shall any one in the sepulchre declare thy mercy?
And thy truth in destruction?
Shall thy wonders be known in the dark,
And thy justice in the land of forgetfulness?

Friend and neighbour thou hast put far from me
And my acquaintance, because of misery.

† Psalmus 87 [ITA]

Hai allontanato da me amici e conoscenti.
Mi sono compagne solo le tenebre.

† Signum Iudicii

Iudicii Signum: tellus sudore madescet.

E caelo rex adveniet per saecula futurus,
Scilicet ut carnem praesens ut iudicet orbem.

Exuret terras ignis pontumque polumque,
Inquirens, taetri portas effringet Averni.

Eripitur solis iubar et chorus interit astris.
Voluetur caelum, lunaris splendor obibit;

Orbe, gemens facinus miserum variosque labores,

Tartareumque chaos monstrabit terra dehiscens.

Reccidet e caelo ignisque et sulphuris amnis.

† Signum Iudicii [ENG]

Judgment shall moisten the earth with the sweat of its standard.

Ever enduring, behold the King shall come through the ages,
Sent to be here in the flesh, and Judge at the last of the world.

Earth is consumed by the fire,
And it searcheth the ocean and heaven,

Issuing forth, it destroyeth the terrible portals of Hell.

Eclipsed is the sun, and silenced the stars in their chorus.
Over and gone is the splendor of moonlight,
Melted the heaven,
Uplifted by Him are the valleys, and cast down the mountains.

Sounding the archangel's trumpet
Shall peal down from heaven,

Over the wicked who groan in their guilt
And their manifold sorrows.

Trembling, the earth shall be opened,
Revealing chaos and Hell.

Rivers of fire and brimstone shall fall from the heaven.

† Signum Iudicii [ITA]

Crollerà il cielo, lo splendore della luna cesserà;

† Sigillum Septimum

Et cum aperuisset
Sigillum septimum
Factum est silentium
In caelo.

† Sigillum Septimum [ENG]

And when
The Seventh Seal was opened
There was silence
In Heaven.

† Sigillum Septimum [ITA]

E come venne aperto
Il settimo sigillo,
Si fece silenzio
In cielo.

† Angelum Abyssi

Grando et ignis mixta in sanguine,
Et missum est in terram.
Mons magnus igne ardens,
Missus est in mare.

Cecidit de caelo stella magna ardens
Tamquam facula.
Et percussa
Et obscurata est
Tertia pars solis, lunae et stellarum.

Vidi stellam de caelo (cecidisse) in terram
Et data est illi clavis putei abyssi.

In diebus illis quaerent homines mortem,
Et non invenient eam.

Et habebant super se
Regem Angelum Abyssi
Cui habet nomen Abaddon,Apollyon,Exterminans.

Vidi equos in visione,
Qui sedebant super eos habentes loricas
Igneas et sulphureas.

Occisa est tertia pars hominum
De igne et fumo et sulphure.

† Angelum Abyssi [ENG]

Hail and fire mixed in blood
Are thrown into the earth
A great ignited mountain
Is thrown into the sea.

A great star falling down from heaven
Ardent like a flame.
And the third part of the sun,
And the third part of the moon,
Were obscured.

I saw a star down from the heaven
Falling into the earth
And it's given to him the key to the pit of the Abyss.

In those day men will inquire Death,
but they won't find it.

They had over themself,
The Angel of the Abyss.
Whose name is Abaddon, Apollyon, Exterminans

In the Hebrew, Greek and Latin languages.

I saw the horses in my vision
And who are seated upon them,

With armours made of fire and sulphur.

And the third part of the mankind was killed
By the fire, the fumes and the sulphur.

† Angelum Abyssi [ITA]

Grandine e fuoco mescolati a sangue
Scrosciarono sulla terra.
Una gran montagna di fuoco
Fu scagliata nel mare.

Cadde dal cielo una grande stella
Ardente come una torcia.
E fu colpito
E oscurato

Regnava l'Angelo dell'Abisso,
Chiamato Abaddon,Apollyon, Exterminans,

In Ebraico, Greco e Latino.

Così mi apparvero in visione i cavalli
E chi sedeva sopra di essi,

Con corazze di fuoco e di zolfo.

E un terzo dell'umanità fu ucciso
Dal fuoco, dal fumo e dallo zolfo.
